How To Take Off Pounds (And Keep Them Off!)
When you’re losing weight, it can be tempting to run out and buy the new pill or the new book that promises you a quick drop in pounds. But it seems like the same tips that have worked for years still work to lose weight and keep it off as well. Here are a few tips that have stood the test of time.
Drinking a glass of juice provides your body with far too much sugar, so choose a glass of water and eating an actual fruit instead to help you lose weight. Fruit also contain fiber, which you won’t get unless you eat the skin and the pulp. Apples are excellent for a dieter!
Exercising is a proven method of weight loss, but many people do not realize how helpful it is to have a friend or family member “buddy-up” with them when they are engaging in physical activities. An extra person can provide motivation to continue with a task and give helpful advice or share concerns.
Sleep depravation can be a cause for weight gain. When you are not getting enough sleep, the level of hormones that regulate hunger become altered, and you will find that you have an increase in your hunger level. Sometimes being hungry does not mean that you need to eat more, you may just need more sleep at night.
Oats are a great food to eat in the morning. If you eat a cup of oatmeal in the morning, you will be less likely to gorge on unhealthy foods in the afternoon. Start your day off with a hearty bowl of oats to jump-start your healthy day.
Take control of your eating behaviors to help avoid over eating. You should plan your eating so you can avoid impulse eating. When you are eating, focus on your food, not on the tv, the phone, or anything else. Don’t clean your plate. You should only eat until you feel slightly full.
These tips can get you started with weight loss in a short period of time. Before running out to buy the next new thing with enormous promises, take some time to follow these tips and see how well they work out for you. Eventually you might run out, but you’ll keep your money in your pocket and run for your health instead.
