How To Spend Less Time Cooking Healthy Food

Finding the shortcuts for making healthy eating take up less of your time is the holy grail for toning success. The less time and energy you spend getting in shape, the more likely it is that you will stick with your plan.

After all, having an inefficient meal preparation process is most likely going to push you over the edge into dieting disaster.

So here is how to spend less time cooking healthy food:

1. Batch vegetable purchase and storage: Vegetables are critical for any successful diet. The tricky thing with vegetables is that they can perish quickly. So batch vegetable shopping and then extend their shelf life by immediately putting them in Ziploc bags or any other air tight container.

2. Buy egg whites or egg substitutes: Yes, you could save some money by buying whole eggs and then extracting the whites. But is it really worth it to spend all morning doing this? I know your time is worth more than this.

3. Cook protein in bulk: Thankfully, cooked protein stores well for long periods of time. Even better, single protein sources can be used for myriad recipes. Don’t overdo it here and prepare a full course meal every time you need to eat.

4. Don’t be afraid to go frozen: Frozen food is not bad for you and it does retain many of its nutrients. Just keep in mind that keeping food frozen for too long can reduce taste and texture. Frozen sources of protein, for instance, are great options here.

5. Use croc pots: Croc pots are a great tool for automating the preparation of large quantities of food. You see, croc pots are so advanced in this day and age, that you can literally push a couple buttons and let them do all the work for you.

Figuring out how to save time when preparing healthy food is an excellent strategy to increase your chances for success. Just remember the most important ingredient here, taking action!
